News (December 2011)Presbyterian Women
We thank everyone who participated in our projects throughout the year and especially during this Christmas season. You certainly make a difference in the lives of others. Please join us at our next board meeting to help plan our mission for 2012. |
We thank the wonderful walkers, sponsors and food donators for our CROP walk this year. We collected a total of $1830.00 from PPC. The weather was not the best but the spirit was there and everyone had a good time.
We have traditionally sponsored needy families with children in our community for a Christmas gift and food basket. If you would like to help the Deacons by purchasing a gift for a family, please take a label from the bulletin board in the narthex. The gift needs to be purchased, wrapped and returned to the church by Sunday, December 11. We thank each one of you for being so generous in providing gifts and food for the families at this time of year.
The money that is used to provide a good meal for our families and other projects of need throughout the year comes from your generous giving in the white and green Christmas Offering envelope located in your pledge box. Thank you again. May you all have a blessed Christmas.
Christmas is a time for joy but this year we have many people in our community who will not have joy because of lack of food and shelter. The Northeast Neighborhood Food Pantry is always helping as many as they can but they still need our help.
PPC would like to give you this challenge:
Bring a non-perishable food item every Sunday and put it in the Food Pantry Cart in the narthex and see how your love and concern will help the families in our community. This challenge is an ongoing project and the Food Pantry will accept donations anytime and distribute whatever is available.
Items needed now are: Baby food, Tuna Fish, Pasta, Baked Beans, Canned vegetables, Crackers in sleeves (soda crackers), or any food item.
