Spring and Summer Activities (2010)

  • Youth Sunday - April 25th at 10:00am - The young people of the church are leading the worship service and providing the music...celebrating resurrection life and God’s creation. The special speaker is John Winings, Executive Director of The Haiti Fund, Inc. Haiti Fund supports the Comprehensive Development Project (CODEP) which is an environmental reclamation and sustainable development project which covers 12,000 hectares in the mountains south of Léogâne, Haiti. John is a Presbyterian lay pastor, and holds degrees in Zoology/Chemistry and Business Administration – International Business Operations emphasis. He and his wife, Debbie, are currently members of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Cary, North Carolina.

  • International Fest - May 2nd at 4:30pm - Family event open to all - A time to taste food and enjoy entertainment and music of other countries provided by WMU Students. Tickets are $6.00 for 12 and up and $4.00 for age 4-11. Some of the countries represented are: St. Croix, Egypt, Kenya, Zambia, Chile, Madagascar, Korea, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Malawi, Philippines, and Latin America.

  • Church Garage Sale - On May 21st and 22nd - Start your spring cleaning early and help out with our garage sale!

  • Vacation Bible School - Lessons from the Trees - June 28th thru July 1st - 'The Spirit is at work in a tangible way,' says Director of Christian Education T. Zoë Kimmel. 'We picked this year’s theme last summer. After the earthquake hit Haiti, we looked for a mission project that would tie into our theme and be of service to this impoverished nation. We could not have imagined how well things would come together!'

  • Future Plans - Other Activities with probably include another trip to the Barn Theatre, a family day at the Stults, and maybe a family outing at a local Bombers ballgame.
