Hello all,

It feels wonderful to have so many people supporting me. I genuinely appreciated the many emails I received regarding my departure and future plans. Keep them coming!

After two days of transit (Detroit-London-Delhi-Udaipur), I am sitting at the end of a narrow basement of an internet cafe in Udaipur, India a few blocks from my hotel where I am staying with four other interns as we orient this week before moving in with our host families and working with our host organization. I am a bit scruffy, sweaty, and tired but arrived safely without major delays.

Oh, and it hit me today that I'm in India. I walked passed an elephant, monkeys, temples, vendors, open sewers, and a holy cow just to get to this internet "basement" a block away.
